Being in touch with your intuition and trusting your gut feeling is an important thing. Usually if you feel something is not right, it is a smart thing to follow it. If you are right, you would have avoided getting hurt, or losing your life. If you are wrong and acted on it, so what, you leave that matter unscathed. You can never make a wrong move paying attention to your intuition on this. We are going to briefly cover some things you should not ignore, if you feel it in your gut.
Have you ever met a stranger and was weary of them because of their demeanor or body language? Maybe they came way too close into your personal space and tried to spark a conversation in an awkward environment. Notice how your body reacts to this, do you breath more, or does your heart palpitate? We all have a circumference around us that is our own personal space. When someone comes too close, we feel uncomfortable. That is the feeling you need to watch out for when a stranger comes too close to you in the street. They may try to start a conversation by asking a question; that is to disarm you. So in that time when your mind is preoccupied, they strike, catching you totally off guard. These people cross physical and verbal boundaries, with the intent of closing the gap between the two of you. So, they can attack you from a closer distance. Criminals know how to manipulate that circumference we have around us by seeming friendly. I am not saying that everyone on the street coming up to you and asking a question or sparking up a conversation is trying to rob you. I only want you to be alert if it is in a shady place or a desolate environment.
Just because you feel something in your gut and you make a move to avoid it, does not clear you from it. You may have to know how to defend yourself if the assailant follows you and attacks.
